Peter has nearly 30 years experience working in financial services, having worked in senior operational, project and business development roles.
He joined Royal London based in Colchester in 1982 and soon became the youngest person to manage one of the Life and Pensions Customer Service Departments. He then moved into Marketing as a Project Manager to manage their new product developments.
After Royal London moved their operations to Wilmslow, Peter joined Canada Life in 2001 where he has managed a number of business projects including the implementation of the Canada Life enhanced annuity that was launched in 2008. Since that time he has been working as the company’s Annuity Development Manager.

June Mulroy is executive director for DC, governance and administration.
In this role June is responsible for both policy and operational decisions made about current and future DC regulation. June is currently leading the regulator’s team reviewing our approach to regulating DC.
An ex-psychologist and chartered accountant, June worked in large corporates and banking for over 17 years as a dealer / risk analysis specialist and consultant
June also worked in two NHS Trusts, one of which was the ‘flagship’ of the NHS at the time, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and has since worked in Switzerland and France, the latter being for the UN in UNESCO.

Michael Slevin is the Managing Director of the Open Market Annuity Service (TOMAS) Ltd. He has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry with over 15 at Board Level.
He holds an MBA and is a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute.
For the past number of years, he has focused on developing solutions for the At Retirement Market in the UK.
This has resulted in the establishment of The Open Market Annuity Service Limited which is acknowledged as a market leading provider of systems and services to improve outcomes and choices for those approaching their retirement date.

Dermot joined Kingfisher, as Head of Group Pensions in mid September 2007. He also supports and acts as Secretary of the UK Kingfisher Pension Scheme. Prior to joining Kingfisher, Dermot was the Director, UK Client Delivery for ExcellerateHRO and the former Towers Perrin Administration Solutions (TPAS) business which he joined in April 2003. There he was responsible for the delivery of administration services to their pensions, flexible benefits and share plan clients.
Between 1994 to 2003, he was the Group Pensions Strategy Director of the Royal Mail Group plc pension plans. He introduced a new senior executive and DC scheme to the Royal Mail pension arrangements and was involved in a number of international corporate transactions and JV, outsourcing activities. Previously, Dermot held a number of senior Human Resource executive / Director positions across both the retail food, fashion and distribution sectors. Dermot is a past member of the CBI Pension Working Group. He is also a past Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Money Purchase Forum.

Owen Walker is deputy editor of Pensions Management and High Net Worth magazines. He also regularly contributes to other titles within the FT and current affairs magazines. He sits on the Pearson Group Pension Scheme money purchase committee.

Fiona’s experience cuts across both DB and DC Schemes. For the last year she has been part of the Corporate Pensions team at Marks & Spencer with responsibility for technical, communications and governance for the DB and DC Scheme. She is also Secretary to the DC Committee.
Her past experience includes 29 years at rpmi (previously known as Railway Pensions Management) covering a number of roles from administration, technical and policy, with the latter years spent in Client Services and Business Development.
Fiona became an Associate of the Institute in 1998 and a Fellow in September 2004. She has played an active role in PMI as an external verifier for QPA and Education Secretary to the North East Regional Committee for a number of years.

Sarah is an independent trustee and a director SmartCats Consulting, an independent strategic consultancy company. She is currently a Board member of the London Pensions Fund Authority and Chair to the Trustees of the Macmillan Cancer Support Pension Scheme.
Sarah is a Chartered Accountant, and has over 10 years experience in the investment management industry, latterly responsible for developing and managing liability-driven investment solutions for institutional investors. Sarah has worked as a trustee since 2004, and has held trustee appointments for seven pension schemes during that time, including several appointments as Chair to the trustees. She is currently a member of the Pensions Working Party for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and a regular columnist for Pensions Week.

Alan Pickering is Chairman of BESTrustees and of the financial literacy charity Life Academy. He is Chairman of the Plumbing Industry Pension Scheme and serves as a trustee of a number of other large schemes. He is a non-executive director of The Pensions Regulator having previously been a member of the Occupational Pensions Board. He is a past Chairman of the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) and the European Federation for Retirement Provision (EFRP). His Government sponsored report “A Simpler Way to Better Pensions” was published in July 2002. He is a member of the Rules Committee of the British Horseracing Authority.
