The growing pressure U.S. and Canadian based insurers have come under from low government bond rates and subdued economic activity, has forced many to expand their investment horizon too new and alternative fixed and non-fixed income opportunities. With a step into the relative unknown, combined with a need to manage new risks, insurers are grappling to better understand the emerging investment areas they can allocate to for yield generation opportunities.
